On Monday, February 1, 2021, Teresa Goldner, loving mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away at age 89.
Teresa was born on February 19,1931, in Wilkes-Barre, PA, to Mary and Joseph Swelgin.
Teresa graduated from Coughlin High School in 1948 and Wilkes-Barre Business College in 1950. She was employed as head cashier at Giant Market for over 30 years. She then worked part-time at Macy's for 20 years until her retirement in 2017.
Teresa loved working and rarely missed a day of work. She enjoyed decorating for all of the holidays; especially Christmas where her home was filled with poinsettias and all things Christmas.
Teresa was preceded in death by her husband Fred in 1973, parents Mary and Joseph Swelgin; longtime companion Cas Dudek; sister Dolores; and brothers Joseph, and Albert.
She is survived by her son Mark and daughter in law Linda; grandchildren Courtney Watkins and Jared Goldner;sisters Peggy Gawelko, Mimi Mroz and her husband Whitey Mroz,Delaware; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Due to Covid-19, a memorial service for Teresa will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Weinberg N.E. Regional Food Bank, 185 Research Drive, Pittston, PA.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc. Plains Twp.
