Cheryl A. Mirowski-Butry of Wilkes-Barre passed on Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2021, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Wilkes-Barre on August 21, 1957, she was a daughter of Stephen and Margaret Shovlin Mirowski. Cheryl grew up in the Plains area with her brothers Tom, Stephen and sister Maggie. She was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, class of 1975.For the last thirty years, Cheryl worked for local insurance companies including Maseychik Associates and AssuredPartners. While there she met many friends who cared for her like family, something she was very grateful for.
Cheryl was a wonderful daughter, mother, and grandmother. She doted on her family and friends and was happiest when she was spending time with them. Anyone who knew Cheryl knew she never left home without her pink lipstick! She loved a good cold 55, tropical islands with “blue waters” and animals, especially her cat, Blu.
Cheryl was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007 and started treatment. After treatment the cancer went into remission. Unfortunately, to return in 2021. Cheryl used this time to spend with her grandchildren and to enjoy life with her children and friends.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her father Stephen.
Surviving are her mother, Margaret; son Michael and his wife Loren, Bear Creek; daughter Amber Rogan and her husband Edward, Collegeville; brother Tom and his wife Linda, Parsons; sister Maggie and her husband Marty, TX; brother Stephen and his wife Barbara, Wilkes-Barre; grandchildren Harper and Tessa Rogan, Collegeville; ex-husband and friend, Michael, Bear Creek; and her faithful cat Blu.
A memorial visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 27, 2021 at Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc, 55 Stark Street, Plains, Pa, 18705.
Funeral Service will begin at 730 p.m. lead by Rev. John Lambert, Pastor of Ss. Peter and Paul Parish, Plains Twp. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Cheryl's memory may be given to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, PO Box 781352, Philadelphia, PA, 19178; or the American Cancer Society, via the web at: https://donate3.cancer.org.
