Obituary of Frances Rose Pokrifka- Quinlan

Frances “ Franny” R. Quinlan, 75, of Plains Township passed at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.
Born on December 28,1945, in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Cecelia Railer Pokrifka. She grew up in the Miners- Mills section of the city and attended St. Clair’s Elementary School. She was also a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, class of 1963.
Franny worked for the Prestige Shoe Factory for several years. She was also a bartender at the Red Mill and the Hudson Servicemen's Club until she retired.
She was a past member of the St. John the Baptist Church of Miners-Mills until the church’s closure. She then attended services at St. Dominic’s Church of Parson, known today as St. Benedict’s Church. She was also a member of the Lani Club, and the Hudson Servicemen's Club.
Frances was preceded in death by her loving parents and her brother Raymond Pokrifka.
Surviving are her sister Cecelia Suhockey, Hudson; sister–in-law Regina Pokrifka, Plains,and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation for Frances will be held at the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc., 55 Stark Street, Plains, on Saturday, September 4, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Funeral Service will begin at 7:30 p.m. lead by Rev. John Lambert, pastor of Saints Peter and Paul Parish.
