Obituary of Geraldine Ceccoli

Please share a memory of Geraldine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Geraldine Ceccoli, 85, of Plains Township, passed peacefully on Monday, January 23, 2023, while in the care of the Kingston Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Kingston. Born in Wilkes-Barre on May 12, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Irene Purzel Namiotko. Geraldine at a young age left school and went to work to help support her family. In 1957, while working a night shift at the Prestige Shoe Factory, she met James Ceccoli. The two fell in love and were married on April 26, 1958. The newlyweds resided in Miners-Mills until a home fire in 2011. They then moved to Plains Township. They have been married for sixty-five years. As James said, “these years weren’t all pure romance. We had our tough spots, but we had our love and each other to get us through the tough times”. During these years the couple raised five children with Geraldine leaving her work to stay at home and raise them. Geraldine was a hard worker, stubborn sometimes but she never complained. She put her family first. She was very creative with her home decor and was determined to complete home projects on her own. She enjoyed fishing for hours up to the point in her life where she had a hard time walking. She would still fish by sitting at the end of the dock. She could rival any skilled angler with her fishing knowledge and expertise. She would spend hours in the yard perfecting her landscapes and her garden. Geraldine enjoyed playing board games, especially Scrabble. She also enjoyed playing the lottery, bingo, and was very skilled at playing cards. She enjoyed watching Law and Order on television and loved being an active grandparent in her grand and great grandchildren’s lives. It wouldn’t be Geraldine’s home if she didn’t have her faithful dog Snowball by her side. She was an animal lover all her life. Geraldine has taught her family many skills and lessons in life none more important than love conquers all life’s challenges. She will be remembered for being a loving and devoted wife, dedicated mother, and caring grandmother. She was preceded in passing by her parents Irene and Stanley; sons James Jr. and Fred; sisters Gertrude Kalemba and Janice Britz, and brother Stanley Namiotko Jr., granddaughter Chelsea Ceccoli, and great granddaughter Kyla Pavia. Surviving are her husband James, at home; daughters Jacqueline Divens and Debbie Levandowski; son Stanley Ceccoli; grandchildren Tracy Reinard: Thomas Shanahan Jr: Amy Pavia: Krista Van Gorder: Patrick Divens: Jessica DiDomineck: Robert Divens: Brandon Ceccoli: James Ceccoli III: Noah Ceccoli: and Madison Ceccoli: 9 great grandchildren; her loving pet Snowball; and several nieces and nephews.
