Obituary of Arlene Marie Angeli
Please share a memory of Arlene to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Arlene Angeli, 65, of Glendale, Arizona passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at Banner Boswell Medical Center, Sun City, Arizona.
Arlene was born on March 16, 1957, in Wilkes-Barre, the daughter of the late Alfie J. and Emma (DeSimone) Angeli, Hudson.
Arlene was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, class of 1975. She was employed by Luzerne County Valley Crest Nursing Home as a Nurse and Resident Beautician for over 20 years.
Shortly after her retirement in 2003, Arlene left the area in search of sunnier skies. She spent a few years in Leesburg, Florida and eventually settled in Glendale, Arizona, where she spent the last 12 years.
In her younger years, Arlene had a passion for fitness and enjoyed competing in Women’s Physique Competitions and teaching aerobics classes. She loved horses and horseback riding, especially on the beaches of Acapulco.
Arlene was very proud of her Italian heritage, and her hometown. She always told stories of home to those she met along the way, especially stories of memories made with her cousins. She made sure to let everyone know that she was a New York Yankee Fan and that it was an inherited trait.
Arlene loved her dog, Prime, and will be overjoyed to be reunited with him as he recently passed. She found joy in the simple things in life in recent years and did her best to find peace in the present.
She is survived by a daughter, Joelle Martinelli and her husband Pat, Hughestown; two grandsons; Brother Robert Angeli and his wife Joan, Hudson; nephew Gerard Angeli, Parsons; one great-nephew, and numerous cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Arlene’s name to support the sport her grandsons love so much. Donations can be given to: Township Little League, 26 Bryden St. Pittston Township PA 18640.
Arlene expressed her wishes that she wanted her final place of rest to be here, at “home”.
Funeral Service and burial will be held privately at the convenience of her family in honoring Arlene's wishes.
I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. (Romans 8:18 NIV)
