Ronald James "Sarge” Roslewicz, 78, of Hudson, was called home to heaven on Sunday, June 11, 2023, while in the care of the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township. Born on November 29,1944, in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son to the late Steve and Mary Biniek Roslewicz. Ron grew up in the Plains area and attended Ss. Peter and Paul Elementary School and the Plains Memorial High School. After graduating in 1960, at the age of 16, his parents allowed Ron to enlist in the United States Army. For the next twelve years Ron served his tours in Vietnam, Korea, and Okinawa. Earning multiple medals and citations for his tours of service, he was most proud of his rank of Staff Sergeant earning him a nickname that will follow him into eternity. After being honorably discharged, Ron worked for the Tobyhanna Army Depot in quality control and fixing electronics for the next twenty-six years until he retired from the government. Ron then went to work for Trion Industries in the maintenance area for the next five year. He also worked at the Mohegan Sun Casino as a security guard for four years and part time at Sam’s Club working at maintenance. One night at the Marine Corp League in Miners-Mills, Sarge met a lovely young woman, Barbara Panattieri. On June 6, 1981, Ron took Barbara to be his wife. They have been by each other’s side for the last forty-two years. Ron enjoyed fixing things with his hands in his spare time. He loved to build computers for fun. Most of all, he loved decorating the outside of his home for Christmas. He was happy that it brought smiles to the neighbors and family. He will be remembered for his helpfulness to others, his kind words that he would speak of others and warm smiles that would greet you. Sarge was a faithful member of the Saint Maria Goretti Parish, Laflin; a member of the P.A.V. and the American Legion, Post 558. Ron was preceded in death by his parents Steve and Mary; sisters Bernadine Dougalas and an infant sister; and brother Thomas.
