Obituary of Hilary Palencar

Hilary Palencar passed away recently after a brief battle with cancer. She was born in 1956 and attended Coughlin High School, Wilkes College, and other dens of iniquity. She was Born Again at the Binghamton First Assemblies of God on February 20,1980. At home in Luzerne County, where she lived most of her life, she came to have two mothers-in–Christ; Marie M. and Mary E. She was taught the Way of the Cross by these saints and by Mary K. and Stacie Y., all of whom predeceased her. Preceding Hilary in death were also the animals who showed her so much love: Dorrie Jean, Jimmy, Nello, Rocky, Chubby, Peeper Cheepers, Gaylord, Black Magic, and many years ago when she lived on Andover Street, Elmer. Hebrews 4:12 was her favorite Bible verse. “For the word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Her favorite verse of literature is from Two Gentlemen of Verona: “Poor wounded name: my bosom as a bed Shall lodge thee till thy wound be thoroughly healed.” Hilary loved Jesus Christ, she was extremely happy to leave this vail of tears, and hopes that in sixty-seven years, she helped just a little the same humble kinds of people her Savior helped.
