Obituary of Jeanette M. Zdrojesky

Jeanette Zdrojesky, 96, of West Wyoming passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024, while in the care of Allied Services Hospice Unit Meade Street, Wilkes-Barre.
Born on May 4, 1928 in the Miners-Mills section of Wilkes-Barre, Jeanette was one of three children of the late James and Helen Semanski Albert. Jeanette graduated from James M. Coughlin High School, in 1946. She also graduated from Nesbitt Hospital School of Nursing in 1950.
After Jeanette met Louis, the love of her life, they married in December 1949. While Louis was enlisted in the United States Air Force, the couple lived all over the country and world. Jeanette was a loving wife and mother to the couple’s six children: Helen, Louis, Michael, Theresa, Patti and Kimberly.
During Louis’s active military career, he passed away while the family was stationed in Wisconsin in 1962. After her husbands passing Jeanette returned with her children to the Wyoming Valley.
Jeanette raised her children until she returned to the work force in 1980 at Wesley Village, retiring at the age of 65. Jeanette was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Parish, Kingston and was also a member of the Wyoming F.O.E. #1965 auxiliary.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents James and Helen Albert, husband Louis Zdrojesky, brother James and his wife Floriann Albert and granddaughter Amy Rivera.
Jeanette is survived by her children: Helen Smith and her husband Bob, West Pittston; Louis Zdrojesky, Colorado; Michael Zdrojesky, Long Pond; Theresa Bininger, Michigan; Patti Orlando and her husband Frank, West Wyoming; Kimberly Zdrojesky, Exeter; sister Betty Sportiello, Wesley Village. Eleven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Debbie Owens for taking such exceptional care of their loved one and the hospice staff in her time of need.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024 at 9:15 a.m. from the Yanaitis Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Stark Street, Plains Twp. A mass of Christian burial will follow and be held at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ignatius Loyola Parish, 339 North Maple St., Kingston. Mass will be officiated by Msgr. David L. Tressler. Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Wyoming. Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation and call at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
