Obituary of Andrew M Price
Please share a memory of Andrew to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Andrew (Andy) M. Price, 47, of the Hudson section of Plains Township, on Saturday, September 14,2024, had a medical event at his home and was rushed to the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center where he later passed with his loving wife Barbara at his side.
Born on June 7, 1977, in Wilkes-Barre, Andy was one of four children of the late Andrew M. Price and his wife Sandra D. Raub Price. He grew up a few steps away from the Heights section of the city in Rolling Hills. Andy attended the Heights Elementary School and was a graduate of the E.L. Meyers High School and Wilkes-Barre Area Vocational School, class of 1996. While at Vo-tech he studied carpentry, electrical and plumbing.
At a young age, Andy got his start working with his brother Dale at Offset Paperback of Dallas, where he worked his way up from janitorial staff to the shipping department. After a few years, Andy wanted to get back into construction so he began working for a general contractor building homes and doing electrical work for Ki Garzella Electrical Company for several years. Recently, Andy was working as a plumber and HVAC specialist for the A.J. Gregorio Heating and Plumbing Company.
In 1998, Andy met a beautiful girl at his brother's house when Barb's mom was delivering a birthday cake for Andy's niece, Carissa Price. While Andy's brother's mother in law and this girl, Barbara Harrison's, Mom decided to set them up. After a few phone calls it led to a date, and four years of dating. On July 20,2002, the happy couple became husband and wife. For the past twenty-two years, the couple resided in Hudson at the house they originally met at, and raised their two children Michael and Tyler. Andy was a loving father to his sons. From shooting Nerf gun battles, fishing trips on the Fourth of July, to sharing his love of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation every year with the family. Andy also enjoyed decorations for the holidays especially Halloween and his favorite character Michael Myers, or his amazing Christmas decorations that would rival Clark Griswald.
Andy was a rocker at his core, from the long hair, to the loud music of AC / DC blasting he was a lifelong fan, however he was a Mr. Fix it for everyone who needed help and he enjoyed helping others to solve problems with his variety of skills. In the end, you may get annoyed by his joking sense of humor or his tricks, but that is how you knew you were family. He wanted to make others happy and keep rocking. Over the years, Andy attended many concerts and tribute bands with his wife Barb and his friends. With everything Andy did for others, he would lay on the couch at the end of the evening and would always say, "I'm just resting my eyes."
Andy, you left too soon. We will truly miss you and our hearts are broken. You will always be with us in the words we speak and the music we listen to. We will carry on with you in our mind and your love in our hearts. Barb and the kids love you as big as the sky!
Andrew is preceded by his father Andrew Price, and his sister Jennifer Grace Price.
Surviving are his wife Barbara, and sons Michael and Tyler, at home; mother Sandra, Wilkes-Barre; brothers Jeff and his wife Tammy, Wilkes-Barre; Dale and his wife Tara, Hudson; several nieces and nephews along with his pet cats Stormi and Shadow.
