Julia A. Oley, 87, of Plains Township, lost her courageous battle with stomach cancer on Monday, April 11, 2016, while in the care of the Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dallas.
Born on April 10,1929, she was a daughter to the late George and Mary Sitek Magda of Hudson. She grew up in Hudson, and attended local Plains Township Schools. At the age of 16, Julia went to work in Frieders Cigar Factory, Parsons She also held employment in the Plains Bra Factory , Engle's Dress Factory, and the Rifkin Company, Hanover, where she met her husband Joseph Oley.
Julia was a present member of Ss. Peter and Paul Church, Plains. Julia was a devout Catholic and loved to pray the rosary and attend services when able.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph,son Joseph George; brothers Matthew, Joseph, and Stanley Magda.
Surviving are daughters Maryann Quinn and husband Michael, Plains; Joanne Natt and husband Victor, Jenkins Township;
Sister Mary Cirko, Hudson, five godsons, many nieces and nephews, and one very special granddaughter Leah Natt.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Ss. Peter and Paul Church, Hudson Road, Plains, on Friday, April 15, 2016, at 10:00 am with Rev. Joseph Greskiewicz, officiant. Interment will be held in parish cemetery, Plains. Family and friends may call at the church on Friday morning from 9:00 am to time of service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation could be made in Julia's memory to a charity of the donor's choice.
Julia wanted to thank her special friends who were there for her all the time: Dorothy; Bernie:Ethel; Dellie, and Babsy. Also a special thank you to the Hospice of the Sacred Heart.
