Obituary of Raymond Joseph Majeski

Raymond J. Majeski, 72 of Exeter, formerly of Edwardsville died on August eleventh from lung cancer at the VA Medical Center, Plains.
He was born on April 20,1942 in Hudson to the late Benjamin and Victoria Majeski. He attended St. Joseph's Parochial School and graduated from Plains High School in 1960.
Ray spent two years in the U.S. Army stationed in Thailand. After starting work at Tobyhanna Army Depot in 1967, he completed night courses at King's College to receive a BS degree. Ray retired from Tobyhanna after 30 years of service as Chief of Receiving.
Ray married the former Alice Youngblood in 1967. They enjoyed forty-seven years together and raised two children. Renee Miller married to Mike Miller of West Pittston and Kevin Majeski of Wyoming. Ray is survived by his wife, two children and a grandson named Zackary. Ray is also survived by brothers Carl and wife Louise of Hudson, and Jerry and wife Bonnie of Hudson. Brother- in law James Youngblood and his wife Debbie of Courtdale. Several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Bernice.
Ray and his son are avid Phillies, Penn State, Eagles, Boston Celtic fans and thoroughly enjoyed attending and watching games together. Ray loved to go fishing for catch and release. He will be sadly missed by family and friends.
Ray's family would like to thank the staff and nurses of Hospice of the Sacred Heart and the doctors and nurses at the VA Hospice Unit for their loved one's special care.
A wake service will be held from 5:00 pm to 8:00pm on Friday, August 15 at the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc., 55 Stark Street, Plains. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 16, at 9:00 am from the funeral home. A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 930 am in St. Ignatius of Loyola Church, 339 N. Maple Ave. Kingston. Interment will be in Fern Knoll Burial Park, Dallas. Military honors will be provided by the United States Army.
