Obituary of Helen Frances Weiss

Helen Frances Novak Weiss, 91, of Plains Township, passed on July 7, 2014, in the Kingston Health Care Center, Kingston.
Born in Plains, on December 31, 1922, she was a daughter to the late Frank and Frances Novak.
She grew up in the Plains area and attended local schools. She entered the workforce as a seamstress in the local garment industry. She also was employed in the local cigar factories as a cigar roller.
Helen then found a job with the Carter's Footwear of Wilkes-Barre, where she was employed for 10 years until her retirement.
Helen, at a young age met her future husband, John P. Weiss. They were married in 1939 and celebrated 26 years of marriage together until John's untimely passing.
She was a past member of St. Joseph Church, Hudson, until its closure and a current member of Ss. Peter and Paul Church, Plains. Helen also was a member of the Kingston Ladies Auxiliary Group. In her retirement she loved to participate in different bowling and shuffle board leagues. Some of her most precious time was spent being a loving grandmother to her young grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband John, daughter Frances Brown, granddaughter Robyn Dunlop, and brother Frank Novak.
Helen is survived by a daughter Terri Dunlop and her companion John Strydesky, NJ; sons John and his wife Sherie, Wilkes-Barre; Joseph and his partner Steven, Plains; son in law Joseph Brown, DE; grandchildren Mindy Stevens and her husband Walt, WY; Joseph GT Brown and his wife Dinah, DE; Tammy DiDominicus and her husband Ben, DE Heather and Dawn Dunlop; great grandchildren Emma Stevens, Leah DiDominicus, and Seth Brown.
Helen's funeral will be held this Thursday, July 10, 2014, at 9:00am from the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc.,
55 Stark St., Plains. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. in Ss. Peter and Paul Parish Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains. Rec. John Boyle will be the celebrant. Interment will be held in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton,
