Please share a memory of Frances to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On May 30, 2014, the Hudson section of Plains lost one of its oldest residence. Mrs. Frances Andrejko, 100, passed on peacefully in the comfort of her family home.
Born on December 31, 1913, she was a daughter to the late Frank and Malvena Bohonko Pieczynski of Hudson. She grew up in the Hudson area and began to work for the local garment industry. She first worked as a seamstress for Gort's Girls and then several other dress factories in the area. She was a hard worker. Frances sometimes worked a morning shift at one dress factory and then an afternoon shift at another.
On January 29, 1938, Frances married Michael Andrejko. Together they celebrated fifty three years of marriage until Michael's untimely passing on June 3, 1991. Together they raised one child Mary Ann.
Frances finally retired from the LA Dress factory in Wilkes-Barre, at the young age of seventy-five.
Throughout Frances's life she was an active member in the St. Joseph Church, Hudson. She was a member of the Christian Mother's, the church quilting society, and one of the hardest workers at the annual church bazaar. You could always find Frances frying the potato pancakes. After St. Joseph's closed, she became a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Church, Plains.
Frances enjoyed her retirement years going on trips to Atlantic City with her daughter. Also she enjoyed watching her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren grow.
She is preceded in death by her husband Michael; sister Lillian Czerepuszko, Stella Kielert, brother Frank Pieczynski and grandson Timothy Wheeler.
Frances is survived by her daughter Mary Ann Wheeler and her husband William, Hudson; sister Irene Mountisne , Layton, Utah; grandchildren Bill Wheeler and his wife Mary Ann, Hudson; Michael Wheeler and his wife Ann, Hudson; Richard Wheeler and his wife Charlene, Hudson; Michelle Wells and her husband Walt, New Jersey; great grandchildren Sarah Wheeler, Cassie Wells; Walter Wells, Bailey Mizenko, and Zoe Wheeler; and great great grandchildren Benjamin and Bradley Corridoni.
