Obituary of Thomas Richard Middaugh

Thomas (Tom) Richard Middaugh Sr., 68 of Mahanoy City, formerly of Wilkes-Barre, passed on Monday, April 14, 2014, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son to the late William J. and Pauline G. Searfoss Middaugh. He attended Wilkes-Barre Schools and attended James M. Coughlin High School. He served in the National Guard, 109th Field Artillery, of the Wyoming Valley. Tom was a mechanic at heart from the start. He worked around cars from a young age as a lot boy for Luzerne Motors. As he aged, he learned the trade of being a mechanic. He continued working for Luzerne Motors which became Coccia Ford Motors. He worked in the garage as a mechanic for 40 plus years until his retirement. In his spare time, Tom loved to go camping with his family and help out his friends when they had a problem with their car. Tom was a past member of the Larksville American Legion Post 655.
Tom is preceded in death by a brother William J. Middaugh.
Surviving Tom are his daughters Danielle Carney and her husband Anderson, Mahanoy City; Julie Middaugh and her fiance Wesley McDonald, Mahanoy City; son Thomas Jr., Wilkes-Barre; brothers Ralph and his wife Dorothy, Wilkes-Barre; Charles and his wife Martha, Wilkes-Barre; Sisters Diane Middaugh; Linda Nesbitt; Pauline Modzeleski, and Paula Faye Schneider and her husband Bernard; all of Wilkes-Barre; seven grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
There will be calling hours this Friday, April, 18, 2014, from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm at the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc., 55 Stark Street, Plains. Funeral Services for Tom will held on Friday at 6:30 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
