Obituary of Joan Esther Drevenik
Joan Drevenik, 84, formerly of the Hudson section of Plains Township, passed peacefully on Sunday, November 5, 2017, while in the care of the River Street Manor, Wilkes-Barre.
Born on May 8, 1933, in Hudson, she was a daughter of the late John and Eva Serniak Letinski. Joan grew up in Hudson and attended school graduating from the Plains Memorial High School, class of 1951.
After graduation, Joan was employed by Gail Fashions, Miners-Mills, were she was a sewing machine operator until she married Peter Drevenik. Together they raised two children Gregg and Denise.
Joan enjoyed crocheting, sewing and made the best fudge you ever tasted. She was a past member of the Parsons senior citizens and a current member of Saints Peter and Paul Church, Plains. Joan also enjoyed volunteering at the Ss. Peter and Paul Food Pantry over the years.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents John and Eva Letinski; husband Peter.
Surviving are her daughter Denise Del Nodal, Oakland Park, Fl; son Gregg, Hudson; and sister Mary Iorio, Hudson.
Joan’s Funeral Service will be from the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc., 55 Stark Street, Plains, on Friday at 10:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial in Saints Peter and Paul Church will begin at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. A visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday morning from 8:30 a.m. until time of funeral service.
