Obituary of Gene Campbell

Gene Campbell, 66, of Wilkes-Barre, formerly of Franklin Township, passed away on Friday, November 24, 2017, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born and raised in Yatesville, he was the son of the late Gene and Mary Campbell.

Before becoming disabled, he worked in various restaurants, last working at the Mayfair Supper Club for twenty years as the head chef.

Preceding him in death, besides his parents, were his son, Brandon Campbell, and mother-in-law, Betty Hagenbaugh. Surviving is his wife of thirty-seven years, the former Rhonda Jane Hagenbaugh, whom he adored.  Also surviving are sons, David and wife Heather of Wilkes-Barre, Wayne and wife Sandra of Plains; daughters, Megan and companion Jeff Feldman of Wilkes-Barre, Fallon and fiancé Corey Blaine of Wilkes-Barre, and Gina and companion Pete Gallucci of Dallas; grandchildren, Alexandra, Cameron, Braelyn, Mackenzie, Aidan, Brandon, Brooklyn, Joseph, and Kyleigh; brothers, Hugh and Leonard, both of Hughestown; sister, Janet, of Wyoming; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins; aunt, Agnes Amato, of West Wyoming; and best friend, Anthony Osticco, Jr.

Special thanks to Brenda, a nurse in the CCU for her special care and compassion during this difficult time.  Also, thanks to the hospice nurses for their care and support.

Friends and family may call Wednesday, November 29, at the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc.,55 Stark Street, Plains from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm. Funeral Service will begin at 7:30 pm officiated by Rev. Jack Lambert, Pastor of Saints Peter and Paul  Church, Plains.
