Obituary of Stella Irene Butkiewicz

              Stella Irene Butkiewicz,89, of Plains Township, passed unexpectedly on Monday, November 27, 2017.

              Born in Wilkes-Barre on June 6, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Emily Arzikira Rudowicz.

              She attended the local school and started to work for the local silk mills and as a homemaker.

 On  November 17, 1951, Stella married Anthony Joseph Bulkiewicz. Together they raised three daughters: Linda, Barbara, and Janet over the 42 years of marriage until Anthony passed on January 13, 1994.

                In her spare time, Stella enjoyed watching television game shows and spending time with her grandchildren listening to their stories or swimming with them in a family pool.

               Stella is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Emily; husband Anthony; brothers Joseph and Stanley; sister Lottie Iwicki and Ann Katcavage.

               Surviving Stella are daughters Linda and her husband Joseph Evanick, Mountaintop; Barbara Butkiewicz, Plains; Janet Bowen; Abington; grandsons Joseph Evanick, White Haven; Justin Evanick, Mountaintop; and granddaughter Amber Bowen, Philadelphia.

                           A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 30,  in Saints Peter and Paul Church, with Rev Jack Lambert, Pastor. Interment is private and held at the convenience of the family.

               Arrangements are in the care of the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc., Plains Twp.
