Obituary of Joseph Jess Miller

Joseph( Jay) Jess Miller, 46, of Plains Township, passed on December 26, 2017, at home after a lifelong battle with diabetes.

Jay was born on December 24, 1971, in the Plains area. He was a son of George Miller and the late Rose Ostrowski Miller. He attended local Plains schools and was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, class of 1990.

Jay worked as a mechanic all his life. He loved to fix cars and different machines. He held employment at John’s Mobile Station, Pittston, and  Jack William’s Tire Plains Twp. He then worked for Trion Industries Plains Twp. as a machine mechanic for over 15 years.

In his spare time, he loved to restore cars, especially his 1971 Chevelle which he entered into car shows and competitions.  Jay also enjoyed working side by side with his brother George on his dragster getting it ready for drag races.

Jay was preceded in death by his mother Rose in 2014.

Surviving are his father George, Plains Twp.,brother George and his wife Suzanne, Plains Twp.; his only nephew and best friend Jesse, Plains Twp; aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral Service for Joseph will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017, at 1:30 p.m. from the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc., 55 Stark Street, Plains Twp.  Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 am until time of service.  Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
