Obituary of Lena Ribolini

Lena Ribolini,94, formerly of Plains Township, passed away peacefully in the loving care of her family at her residence in Slatington, Pennsylvania. Born in the Hudson section of Plains on October 17,1921. Lena was one of nine children to the late Lorenzo and Arthemesia Filippini. Growing up in the Plains area, she attended local school and the Plains Memorial High School. She worked in the local garment industry as a seamstress, and later at Pizza Two as a hostess for several years. Lena married Louis Ribolini and they settled in the Hudson section of Plains, and together they raised five children. Louis passed on March 1, 1985. In recent years, Lena enjoyed the casino slot machines, playing cards all night long staying up longer than all those younger than her. Ordering from QVC even though she didn't need anything and shopping with her son in law Marty. She loved family and family gatherings, the most looking forward to the yearly family reunions. Lena lived by the motto "Always laugh and live each day". She is preceded in death by her husband Louis; son Louis Jr.; sister Rose Snopeck; brothers Geno and Ranato Filippini and grandchild Larry Hornick. Surviving are daughters Nancy Hornick; Rita Shuleski, Debra Kogoy; Marie Everheart; sisters Elsie Belmont; Katherine Synder; Mary Pavalis; Margie Russo; brother Frank Filippini; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held this Friday, January 22, 2016, at 10:00am from the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc, 55 Stark Street, Plains. Service will be officiated by Deacon Donald Crane. Interment will follow in Italian Independent Cemetery, Wyoming. Friends and family may call at the funeral home this evening from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.
