Obituary of Lottie M. Zelinski

Lottie M. Zelinski, 91, of Wilkes-Barre, died, Sunday, December 30, 2012, at the General Hospital, Wilkes-Barre, following a sudden illness.
Born in the Miner-Mills section of Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter to the late Adam and Frances Masiewicz Zelinski. She was educated in the Wilkes-Barre school system and was a graduated of James M. Coughlin High School, Class of 1939. Due to the depression, Lottie went to New York City to find employment. After many years she returned to the Wyoming Valley and worked for General Cigar and Consolidated Cigar as a machine operator. Lottie also worked for the RCA Corporation of Mountaintop for twenty-five years as a factory worker. During most of this time, Lottie enjoyed her life. She returned to New York occasionally to see a Broadway show with family or friends. She loved to go to Atlantic City and enjoyed shopping.
When she was at home, Lottie loved to garden and spend time cutting her lawn. She was an active member of the St. Joseph Parish, Hudson, until its closure. Lottie loved to volunteer at St. Joseph's and St. Anthony's Maronite Church Bazaars and also many social activities over the years. She was a current member of Ss. Peter and Paul Church, Plains, a member of the Wyoming Lodge 136-the Fraternal order of Police, a member of the Local 177 IUE of the RCA Corporation, RCA nippers club, and a member of the Polka Jets.
Lottie is preceded in death by brothers: Adam, Anthony, Alexander, Edward, John, Joseph, Stanley, Thomas, and Zigmund.
Lottie is survived by her sister Eleanor McCabe, Wilkes-Barre; brother Leo, Roseville, Michigan; many nieces and nephews, and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
Lottie's funeral will be held Saturday, January 5, 2013, at 10:00 am from the Mark V. Yanaitis Funeral Home, 55 Stark Street, Plains. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10:30 am in Ss.Peter and Paul Church, Plains. Interment will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hudson. Friends may call Friday from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to: Blue Chip Farms Animal Refuge, 974 Lockville Road ,Dallas, PA 18612-9465.
