Obituary of Stephen Kenneth Fellows Jr.

Stephen K. Fellows Jr., 74, formerly of Clark Summit and now of Lower Paxton, passed on Saturday, June 15, 2019, while in the care of the UPMC Pinnacle Community Osteopathic, Harrisburg, Pa, 

Born on December 1, 1944, in Scranton, he was the son of the late Stephen Fellows Sr. and Mary Marsh Fellows Werner.

Stephen grew up in the Clarks Summit area and attended local schools. He attended the Forman High School in Litchfield, Connecticut and was a graduate in 1965. During these years Stephen worked summers in the local silk mills.

He continued his education in colleges in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and graduated with his Bachelor’s of Art Degree from Pace College, New York.

During his college education he served in alternative service as an orderly at the Lancaster Hospital and as a bonded messenger for the Southern Natural Gas Company of New York.

After a few years he worked in sales selling educational aids and equipment to schools.

He then turned his career to working in a local car dealership working in finance. He also worked in Matsa Jewelers of Carbondale as a credit manager.

After several years he took a position in the West Side Bank of Harrisburg as a Repo Agent. He worked his way up the corporate ladder over several  years to an adjuster manager and later to a Bank officer.

  The West Side Bank was sold and over the next few years changed hands several times, however, Stephen, remained loyal to the bank and retired from the Dauphin Deposit Bank in 2002, as the bank auditor of car dealerships and loans throughout our state.

During these years, Stephen met the special woman that became his wife on April 19,1979, the former Barbara Goncharchick. Together they moved to the Lower Paxton area to enjoyed forty years of marriage together.

Stephen in his spare time could by found in the local Lower Paxton library reading books and magazine’s on business and finance. He just loved to spend every Saturday at the library educating himself.

Stephen loved to travel with his wife Barbara all over the world from England, Europe, Canada, and locally to New York City, and Philadelphia.  He and Barbara had an adventurous spirit to visit different towns in Pennsylvania, one’s they have never been to before.

Stephen is preceded in death by his loving parents Stephen Sr. and Mary.

He is survived by his loving wife of forty years, Barbara, Lower Paxton, PA.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of Saints Peter and Paul, Hudson Road, Plains Township, on Friday, June 21, 2019, at 10:00 a.m.. Mass will be celebrated by Rev. John Lambert, Pastor. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to United Cerebral Palsy of Northeastern Pennsylvania,425 Wyoming Avenue, Scranton, Pennsylvania 18503.
