Obituary of Edna Louise Kantor

Edna Louise Kantor, 79, of Crossville, Tennessee, was in the process of moving to the Wyoming Valley, when she suffered a sudden cardiac event on Monday, July 6, 2020, and passed shortly after in the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, on July 29,1940, Edna was a daughter of the late Lyle and Agnes Wieser. She grew up in the city and attended local schools. In 1956, Edna married her first love, Robert James Kantor. Together they would raise their family in the Chicago area and Edna held employment with the Chicago Transit Authority as a ticketing agent for the next twenty-five years until she retired. She also belonged to the Transit Authority Union. Throughout those years, Edna loved raising her family, she filled the home with love and classical music of all the famous composers. She was a collector of many things, from tape to baking dishes, to even cupcake papers; but everything had a place in her home.
Following her retirement, the happy couple moved to Crossville, Tennessee. Edna enjoyed bird watching, making crafts, baking goodies with her grandchildren and extended family, she enjoyed day trips of shopping and eating at a variety of restaurants, and she was an animal lover, especially to her cat Miss Molly.
Edna was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert Sr.; son Robert Jr., sisters Evelyn Roach and Dorothy Davis.
Surviving are her daughters Stacie Grey and her husband Michael, Exeter; Cathy Gonzalez and her husband Johnny, sister Ellen Nootbar, Perk Falls, WI; 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 13, at 11:30 a.m. in the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc, 55 Stark Street, Plains. Services will be officiated by Rev. John Lambert, Pastor of Saints Peter and Paul Church, Plains. Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until time of service on Monday.
